Has anyone personally met someone who self-identifies as neoliberal? Or is it just a slur?

In 1997, he retorted that those labeling his policies as neoliberal were, in Portuguese, “neobobos” (“neo-fools”), but I guess the real fools were those who reelected him in 1998…
